Profile: Carlos Newton was one of the early entrants into the sport of mixed martial arts. He began his MMA career in 1996, and fought his first UFC show at UFC 17. During most of his career he alternated between Pride and the UFC prior to the UFC's assimilation of Pride in 2007. Over the course of his career he's fought the likes of Matt Hughes, Renato "Charuto" Verissimo, and Renzo Gracie.
