Tim "Big Perm" Persey is a mixed martial artist based out of Irvine, California. Persey trains at the No Limits gym in Irvine under Colin Oyama, who has trained such fighters as Jason "Mayhem" Miller, Tito Ortiz, and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. It was actually Rampage who suggested that Tim Persey pursue MMA fighting.
After his June 2007 fight Persey tested positive for methamphetamine. In a statement Persey later said that while he does not use drugs, he will not be appealing the decision before the California State Athletic Commission.
