UFC Fight Night: Machado Garry vs. Prates Betting Odds

UFC Fight Night: Machado Garry vs. Prates Main Card Predictions

Ian Machado Garry vs. Carlos Prates

Machado Garry got his colors lowered against a rampaging Shavkat Rakhmonov, but he’s on the comeback trial and he deserves to be the favorite against Carlos Prates.

The Irishman has beaten the likes of Michael Page and Neil Magny, so he has fought tough fighters, and Prates is considerably easier than Rakhmonov. It’s why Machado Garry is the –140 favorite, and those odds are generous.

Prates is 21-6 following a KO win over Magny. They have both defeated Magny, and Prates is a known knockout artist, but Machado Garry is a good grappler, and he won’t let Prates get enough room to land a big blow.

Take the favorite to win and get a chance at the title later this year.

Prediction: Ian Machado Garry by Decision

Anthony Smith vs. Mingyang Zhang

Mingyang Zhang is the firm –525 favorite against Anthony Smith, and although we’ve loved backing Smith over the years, his best days are behind him.

Lionheart has 21 losses on his 38-21 record, and that’s a lot of damage to take. It’s catching up to him as a 36-year-old fighter, and although Zhang doesn’t have the same credentials or experience, he’s trending in the right direction.

Zhang is 2-0 in the UFC after knocking out Brendson Ribeiro and Ozzy Diaz, with both KOs coming in the first round. It could be a quick night for Smith.

Prediction: Mingyang Zhang by KO

Giga Chikadze vs. David Onama

It’s rare to see Giga Chikadze as a betting underdog, but David Onama has been on a tear, winning his last three fights.

His last loss came to Nate Landwehr in 2022, but since then he is 3-0 against Gabriel Santos, Jonathan Pearce and Roberto Romero. Chikadze is his toughest opponent yet, but he looks set to rise to the occasion.

Chikadze lost to Arnold Allen at UFC 304, and he landed only 39 total strikes. That’s not good news against someone like Onama, who likes to throw a lot of punches, and his cardo never gives out.

The –190 odds are short, but Onama is the best bet in this fight.

Prediction: David Onama by Decision

Michel Pereira vs. Abus Magomedov

We enjoy backing Michel Pereira as he always gives bettors a good sight, and that’s all we can ask for.

The 31-year-old is 31-12 following a loss to Anthony Hernandez, which was always going to be a tough fight for him, but he showed his well-rounded skills when submitting Ihor Potieria at UFC 301 last year.

Magomedov looks to continue the infamous name, and he looked good when winning by sub over Brunno Ferreira at UFC 308. It was a good follow up from his decision win over Warlley Alves, but he has been beaten a few times in the UFC.

We’re happy to stick with Pereira at –150 odds.

Prediction: Michel Pereira by Decision

Randy Brown vs. Nicolas Dalby

There won’t be much between Randy Brown and Nicolas Dalby, but we can’t include Dalby in our UFC picks as a 40-year-old.

Older fighters struggle in the UFC, and Brown doesn’t lack power, so he could get Dalby out of the Octagon in quick time as a –220 favorite. Brown won by KO last year before splitting his last two fights, including a win over Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos.

Dalby has ability, but he could be outmatched on this occasion, and bookmakers expect a Brown victory.

Prediction: Randy Brown by KO

Ikram Aliskerov vs. Andre Muniz

Most of the early money with UFC betting has come for Ikram Aliskerov, and it’s not hard to see why. The –550 favorite is 15-2, and he looks to have a bright future in the middleweight division.

Muniz has 24 wins on his 24-6 record, but he doesn’t have the same impact when he fights, which is why he’s a +400 underdog. We can’t see him getting close enough to Aliskerov to make much of an impact.

Aliskerov is worth including in UFC parlays at the odds.

Prediction: Ikran Aliskerov by Decision
