UFC 312 Betting Odds

UFC 312 Main Card

Dricus Du Plessis vs. Sean Strickland

We think Du Plessis is one of the best bets on the card at –190, and we can’t see him losing to a fighter like Strickland.

Sure, we thought the same when Israel Adesanya lost to Strickland, but he was off that day. We have yet to see Du Plessis have an off day, and we just can’t envision Strickland doing enough to beat the current champion.

Du Plessis submitted Adesanya to win the title in April last year, and although defending your title is never easy for the first time, he has already beaten Strickland by decision in January last year. It was a close fight, with Strickland out-landing Du Plessis, but the South African took down the American six times, and that was the difference.

Strickland will come forward all day and apply pressure, but it’s not knockout power, and Du Plessis should roll right through the challenger.

Prediction: Du Plessis by Decision

Weili Zhang vs. Tatiana Suarez

Bettors get another quality line with bookmakers in this fight, which has Zhang at only –170 to retain her title, and we can’t see her losing it.

“And Still” will likely be the story of the night, especially for Zhang, who has been decimating everyone in her path, including fighters better than Suarez. The challenger is 12-0, so she’s unbeaten, but having not fought in 2024 counts against her.

She needed the ring time, and if Zhang can avoid getting taken down, Zhang is the clear winner. She throws an inside number of punches, so her key to success is defending the takedowns, which is all Suarez is counting on.

Take the value odds for the champion, who could show Suarez why she’s the best in the division.

Prediction: Weili Zhang by Decision

Justin Tafa vs. Tallison Teixeira

Justin Tafa is a big-hitting fighter, but he could have his work cut out for him against 7-0 Tallison Teixeira, who has the age advantage.

The 25-year-old makes his UFC debut, having won on Dana White’s Contender Series when knocking out Arthur Lopes with a straight right. It’s clear he has a stack of power, and he won in LFA with a head kick, so he has a well-rounded game.

There are many heavyweight fighters scared to take him on, and we feel a bit for Tafa. We love him as a fighter, and he’ll have the crowd behind him, but worse fighters have dropped him, so we’re backing Teixeira at –161 odds.

Prediction: Tallison Teixeira by KO

Jimmy Crute vs. Rodolfo Bellato

We used to love betting on Jimmy Crute, but those days are gone, and Rodolfo Bellato should improve his 12-2 record.

Crute hasn’t won a fight in the UFC since 2020, and since that time, he has suffered losses to Jamahal Hill by first-round KO, Anthony Smith by first-round TKO, and Alonzo Menifield by submission. It’s not a good look, and he hasn’t fought since 2023.

Bellato has made quite an impression since signing with the UFC. He was given a second chance on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2023, having lost by KO in his first attempt. He made up for lost time with a KO of Murtaza Talha before winning again by KO against Ihor Potieria in 2023.

Not fighting in 2024 is a worry, but the light heavyweight has heavy hands, and it could be night night for Crute. Take the –161 odds for Bellato to continue his winning streak.

Prediction: Rodolfo Bellato by KO

Jake Matthews vs. Francisco Prado

Jake Matthews will have the Australian crowd behind him, and he’s a very experienced fighter in the UFC. He made his debut in 2014, so despite being only 30, he has grown up in the Octagon.

The Aussie has mixed form entering this fight, but he won his most recent fight against Philip Rowe by decision. It wasn’t an amazing fight, but it showed that he still wants to win.

Prado is 12-2 following a loss to Daniel Zellhuber. That wasn’t an easy fight for the Argentinian, but we don’t think he bounces back from it. Matthews will be in his face all night long, and Prado could fold under the pressure.

Prediction: Jake Matthews by Decision
